"Kayaan organizes a training course on community-based rehabilitation."

Kayaan Association for Persons with Disabilities has begun organizing a training course on community-based rehabilitation, which will last for four days. The course will be taught by Dr. Ayman Al-Tantawy, the founder and Executive Director of Kayaan Association.

The course is taking place at the main headquarters of Kayaan Association in Cairo and will discuss the origins and history of community-based rehabilitation strategies, the relationship with various community services, modern terms and concepts, rights-based rehabilitation, the role of specialists in community-based rehabilitation strategies, how to design a local plan for community-based rehabilitation, documentation in records, and methods of usage.

Dr. Ayman Al-Tantawy, Executive Director of Kayaan Association, confirmed in a press release issued by the association on Monday that the association's branches across the country implement community-based rehabilitation strategies, particularly in the governorates of Asyut, Sohag, Beni Suef, and Minya. He stated that the application of this strategy has successfully enhanced the capabilities of many persons with disabilities in the most underserved rural areas of Upper Egypt.

It is noteworthy that the community-based rehabilitation strategy is one of the strategies promoted by the World Health Organization. It is recognized as a strategy that falls under local community development aimed at achieving rehabilitation, equal opportunities, reducing poverty, and social inclusion for all individuals with disabilities. It is implemented through the concerted efforts of persons with disabilities themselves, their families, their organizations, and their local communities, as well as health, educational, professional, and social facilities involved in the process.
