"Early Intervention and Rehabilitation Units in the Upper Egypt Governorates"
The Kayan Association was able, in 2016, to adopt a pioneering project to establish 15 early intervention and rehabilitation units within the community in the Upper Egypt governorates. This initiative is rooted in its belief in the strategy of community rehabilitation, which aims for comprehensive and inclusive development for individuals with disabilities within society.The rehabilitation units are small facilities established through self-efforts and with the support of the village residents. Kayan trains teachers to provide early intervention services and to raise awareness among families and the community.
Kayan works to spread this concept within the community to help reach individuals with disabilities, especially in remote and impoverished areas.
