#Assistive_Devices_Equal_LifeAssistive and compensatory devices can change the life of an individual and their family, helping them achieve independence and carry out life functions on equal terms with others. Medical hearing aids, white canes, wheelchairs, educational tools are means to break the barriers imposed on the lives of millions of people with disabilities. In 2018, through the contributions of kind-hearted individuals, we provided compensatory devices and sponsored urgent surgeries for 62 children in five governorates, with a total value of 310,000 EGP.
In 2019, we decided to establish a permanent fund to support the lives of children with disabilities (mental, physical, hearing, visual) after ensuring their needs and the impact of technical interventions on their lives. We aim to support 100 children with a total value of approximately 500,000 EGP (average cost of compensatory device per child 5,000 EGP).
